How do I calculate tiles for an irregular room?
Break the room into rectangular sections, calculate each section separately, then add the totals together. TileCalc’s project feature lets you add multiple areas to a single project.
What waste factor should I use?
- Straight lay (grid): 10% waste
- Diagonal lay (45°): 15% waste
- Complex patterns or cuts around cabinets: 15–20% waste
TileCalc sets a default of 10%. Increase it for diagonal patterns or rooms with many cuts.
The tile size I need isn’t listed.
Use the custom size option — enter any width and height in mm, cm, or inches.
How do I calculate grout?
Grout estimates are based on tile size, joint width, and area. Enter your joint width in the project settings and TileCalc will include a grout quantity estimate.
Can I export my project results?
You can share a summary using the share button on the results screen. This exports a plain-text summary of your project dimensions, tile size, and material quantities.
How do I request a refund?
